Maybe I am just an introvert or maybe I just want some time alone - I have never understood the fascination with everyone in the world being able to find out everything I do and track me down. It is cool to find out that you are at some Expo and find out that there is a new gadget from twitter. The fact that you are now going to the restroom is more than I need to know. Yes, UC may become like facebook or myspace but I hope not. I much rather have technology as a tool rather than a function of my life. When was the last time you just sat down with your customers and actually talked with them. Not in sound bytes of product promotions but in actual engaging conversation?? Just because you have a lot of blinking lights and buttons to push does not make quality of conversation better. It only makes it easier and in greater quantity. img idk - is not quality conversation nor is it thoughtful. It is instant and frequent. Hundreds of thousands of dollars if not more for UC and in the end what measurable value have you provided to the customer?

We will need to have trust systems set up, otherwise spammers will continue to broadcast message with high importance. The last think you want is your home number filled up with messages for foreign rx :)
Maybe there will be a class of software that will act as the gatekeeper, and each person will run their own instance of this software. You can configure it with a safe-list, and then use an authority service to pass the validity of unknown callers.
I do believe that will will have 1 device that should be reachable via 1 address.
But just remember this: except for a certain class of user, most people don't need such an high level of instant-on-connectedness.
Mobility
I agree with your outlook but, I would add true mobility to this. Enbabling video communications and collaboration to a single powerful mobile device with a extensive backend directory infrastructure.
mixture of medias
Like others, I think the future is much more than voice and text. Video, screen recordings, pictures, etc, have to become as easy to use as a phone.
