pit bull owners are very much opposed to animal rights activists like PETA. In fact, you can buy pit bull t-shirts calling PETA all kinds of vulgar names. These two groups may agree on some things, but thier interests are very different. One wants the right to dog ownership and claim that bans are a violation of due process and property rights (which 13 states have ruled to be right) and the other wants to ban animal ownership. Also, don't confuse animal rights with animal welfare.. they are completely different.
