should be jackass forum

I guess I could open a one size fits all shoe store as well.

So they propose that it will be more cost effective to apply and track a security solution on every host and server in a network, some networks are pretty darn big.. and we are talking about a solution way more capable than just AV/AS solutions.

You stated that Symantec shows up at some of their gatherings, well I guess so, hell, good idea or not this would be a whole new field to plow for their product development.

Is one of the "60" paying members of this forum the black hat group I am pretty sure all hacker groups heartily support this ideology.
Do they share office space with the flat earth society?
OK, I will stop heckling and end this with some age old wisdom.
Every thing has a place and every thing in its place.

Shhhh... quiet... you interrupted the cricket that was chirping after the first Jericho Forum announcement.

I put Jericho Forum and Gartner in the same boat, yet another research/analyst group with little common sense.

The point of having a firewall is to have one (or a few) specialized piece(s) of equipment to manage and maintain connections into and out of the corporate network.

Anyone who can't understand the nightmare that would ensue as a result of having every device as a gatekeeper needs to work on a Helpdesk in a large company for a month. It's hard enough keeping PCs up to date with the latest A/V definitions, try adding Intrusion Detection to the mix while still proving access for support.

There is a reason why Jericho Forum only has 60 members...
