G1 Camera

I agree the camera is really bad, I want to see a tri-pod for it so the images can be stable. I'm hoping a vidio recorder comes out as an app but I don't see it being able to give quality videos. For the goodies though the battery life is amazing, I surf and GPS all day and need to charge only by 9:30 PM.

G1 with Kill Switch

I read there is a remote removal "kill swicth" with the G1. In Google's Android App Market TOS:

"Google may discover a product that violates the developer distribution agreement ... in such an instance, Google retains the right to remotely remove those applications from your device at its sole discretion"

:-)

Negatives...

First, I love my G1 phone. (I realize that's not a negative, but I do want to get that out first.)

Back Door App removal. Yes it exists, and it should. It's there for situations where an app is determined to be a significant risk, such as bypassing what users have allowed it to access and distribute about the phone. Passwords comes to mind as a reason to be cautious.

I would love to see a scroll control on the screen for manual lens focusing for the camera. I'm not impressed with the demands for full motion video capture yet, but I know it's a fault in some people's book.

No 'night' mode for the Map/Navigation tool. Map does not orient to direction of travel. Someone's idea of good map management is to wait till the 'here I am' place mark is about to leave the map before re-centering. Missing many features that have been in several other Google maps for Mobile users platforms for years.

Positives...
Out of box OGG vorbis support.
Charges off of a USB connector, I've no shortage of these.

Tip...
Bubble Wrap in the Market place. Not quite as cathartic as the real stuff, but an endless supply of the stuff.
