Why IT will adopt Windows 7

In the next few days, I want to take some time to address the coming release of Windows 7. As a person who was named a Windows Vista Master, I want to look at three areas where Windows 7 will make a difference when Windows Vista did not seem to make a dent, so to speak.

Starting today, I will discuss the following topics:
1.	Why IT will adopt Windows 7
2.	Why XP users will switch to Windows 7
3.	Why Windows 7 will crush Linux (that’s right -- I said CRUSH)

i newly buy Acer ASPIRE One.it is light wight , powerful , producing very low heat and battery life is about 6 hour (with 6 cell battery).it is my swiss army knife and i do all my networking related task with that.the performance is acceptable and the only cons is small display and touchpad (very small).but it is more better that heavy notebook if you need to console session to your router or ssh connection to your net devices.

Bluetooth webcam

Would be interesting if this device announces itself as a webcam - that would mean a service like HomeCamera (www.homecamera.com) would pick it up easily. I can see opportunities for bundling and lots more. But if it's yet another complicated device requiring users to define com ports and other techno-geek gibberish then I'm afraid the device will only appeal to the very tech-savvy.

Incidentally, this is not the first bluetooth camera, though it indeed may be the first such camera for Macs.

free trade that has caused our current problems

Total nonsense. It is free trade that has caused our current problems. The prevailing business plan over the past few decades is shut down manufacturing, sent it offshore then bring the output here to sell to those who still have jobs or credit. That model has failed. Obama's fix may indeed shore it up for a few years but it will fail again and again.

Strategize 2009: Virtualization Continues to Lead

Virtualization is not a new topic, however, it continues to be an emerging and quickly-adopted strategy for combating several enterprise technology problems. How does adopting a continual virtualization plan help an organization's bottom line? In many ways, actually. Believe it or not, many have been slow to adopt this strategy. They still have datacenters full of under-utilized hardware, consuming precious resources.

Why should adopting a prominent virtual environment be a part of your 2009 strategy?

Top 20 Most Braindumped Certification Vendors of 2008

Well, it’s that time of year. In our first blog post about the “Top 20 Most Braindumped Certification Vendors” we promised that we would keep you abreast of the progress each vendor is making. Unfortunately, the numbers being presented here don’t show there is any progress being made, but I assure you that progress is being made. Although the numbers have risen since we published the first blog post, the numbers here are a combination of newer websites opening up and some of the other websites being shut down.

Best And Worst 2008 Predictions

I'm not necessarily in the business of officially making predictions about the IT industry or market, I'll leave that to the realm of the analysts. But as a technologist, product creator, entrepreneur and IT guy, I'm always casting my net in the direction I think things are headed or will be headed.

Cisco ain't got the skills to make it in the consumer market

In the opinion of yours truly, a very eye-catching critical salvo was fired this week at Cisco's much ballyhooed consumer market hype:

"In order for Cisco to compete with Samsung, Sony and even Apple, the company would need to rewire its entire DNA, and unfortunately, it ain’t got the skills," said Om Malik - Founder and Senior Writer of the emerging technology news site GigaOM.

"Cisco has a checkered past when it comes to diversification into new markets. Lets face it: Cisco’s skills are in selling equipment to corporations and the government, which is why their push into telepresence (video conferencing) and data center-related equipment makes a lot of sense.

"How does a company that gets big fat margins from selling expensive equipment (and paying its sales team accordingly) live with the razor-thin margins of consumer entertainment gear? For Cisco this would like climbing Mount Everest without an oxygen tank."

Microsoft Get Busy & Don't Listen To The Analysts

Redmond, you've got too much to do so don't be listening to Wall Street's calls to start laying off people. No disrespect to the analysts, but a big round of layoffs is that last thing Microsoft needs distracting it from the work at hand. Plus, telling 10% of your workforce sayonara so Wall Streeters can make $0.10 more per share will do more damage to your employee base and the new Ray Ozzie-driven momentum you built up than a short term bump of ten cents per share.

1% of Cisco products generate 50% of Cisco product revenue

Moving further down the Cisco food chain, an additional 46% of Cisco products generated only 30% more in Cisco product revenue.

Finally at the very, very bottom rung of Cisco's amazing money making machine, the majority - 53% of Cisco products, generated just a mere 20% of Cisco product revenue.
